The following has been exerpted from an article that originally appeared in the Manistique Pioneer-Tribune Dec. 21, 2006:

A new minister is on duty at Church of the Redeemer Presbyterian in Manistique. Rev. Albert Valentine visited the church as a guest speaker several times in October and began an appointment as “temporary supply pastor” on Nov. 17.

In his new role, Valentine will actually be serving at two area churches, conducting 9 a.m. services each Sunday at Community Presbyterian Church in Gould City, then coming to Manistique for the 11 a.m. service at Church of the Redeemer.

It’s a busy schedule for a pastor, but it’s just part of Valentine’s multi-tasking duties, which keep him on the go most of the time.

Valentine says he’s enjoying life in the U.P., where even the rugged landscape and climate can’t faze him – not after a childhood in Lower Michigan and so many years in the Pennsylvania mountains.

“I’m very honored to serve these churches and appreciative of the opportunity,” he says. “Here and in Gould City, the people have been very warm, receptive and welcoming. I’m very happy to be here.”
